Administrator

The Applications Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining assigned applications and other systems as required. Working closely with department application owners, the Applications Administrator serves as a technical point-of-contact and technical expert for required applications and researches the best practices and standards to enhance usage of the applications. Identifies and champions the adoption of departmental standards and best practices.

Essential Job Duties

Maintain system administration for assigned applications and system

  • Create, manage and support all administrative functions (accounts, projects, users and user permissions) associated with the applications.
  • Provide periodic reports to clients as needed.
  • Partner closely with functional subject matter experts to ensure projects, dashboards and reports are configured and accurate.
  • Lead projects by driving activities such as project planning, business process mapping, developing new workflows, and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Set access security and permissions for users based on business need for functional modules within the application.
  • Perform functional and technical system activities including business process configuration, security fundamentals, calculated fields, report writer, data imports, and educating functional users.
  • Work closely with functional users to update system application business processes and implement system enhancements.

Partner with Department Application Owner

  • Partner with Department Application owner to establish operational and functional roadmap.
  • Partner with Department Application owner to review requests submitted by subject matter experts.
  • Discuss system requests and enhancements with Department Application owner and determine level of priority and scope.
  • Meet weekly with Department Application Owner to review the outstanding list of enhancements and fixes.
  • Maintain tracking and resolution of issues, enhancements and fixes.
  • Promote best practices for optimization of the application.
  • Help guide and maintain the organization of data within the application.
  • Discuss security change requests with Department Application Owner.

Maintain understanding of system architecture

  • Work with third party support vendors in researching and resolving system enhancements and fixes.
  • Configure and enhance application tools, including native functionality as well as researching, testing, and implementation.
  • Maintain technical documentation for future reference.
  • Research and identify upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions.
  • Review semi-annual release notes, advise functional areas of potential impact and coordinate testing of new functionality
  • Participate in meetings with third party support vendor to manage outstanding ticket requests.
  • Continually does research to enhance system functionality and resolve potential issues.
  • Submits tickets with third party support on system issues

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 Years of Experience in Applications development.

  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Experience creating KPIs, dashboards and metrics.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and the ability to focus attention on details.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster team collaboration and empowerment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ability to work with different teams.
  • Assess and identify dependencies and actions needed to successfully perform work through various teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and with little supervision to resolve problems professionally and promptly.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization.

Technical Competencies

  • Microsoft Office (Intermediate proficiency).
  • Basic knowledge of programming.
  • English: Proficient in spoken and written communication.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
  • Tools: Jira, PM Tools, Visio (desirable).
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Location

 Occasionally Hybrid (CDMX, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador)
